Dr. Rob Hyten
DentistI started my dental practice in Carlyle, Illinois in 1989, after graduating from Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine.
Born and raised in Edwardsville, Illinois, I had an interest in dentistry from an early age. My uncle was a dentist, and my siblings and I always enjoyed visits to his office. At the age of 16, I was trained in my uncle’s office to be a dental assistant and spent the next four summers working with patients.
After graduating high school, I attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky on a track and cross-country scholarship. I pursued studies in chemistry and biology with an eye for getting into dental school.
I got my Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. After dental school, I spent many months looking for the right opportunity to practice dentistry. Carlyle was my community of choice because of it’s potential for professional success and the benefits of small-town living – particularly building relationships with patients and neighbors.
I am a member of The American Dental Association, The Illinois State Dental Society, Lion’s International, and Kaskaskia College Advisory Board.
I spent 20 years coaching soccer and now enjoy being a spectator. I like to garden and spend breaks during my day pulling weeds. When I have the time, I love playing Pickleball and recently purchased a kayak and E-Bike to further enjoy the great outdoors.
Front Office
Sarah Haake
Office ManagerI have been with Hyten Dental my entire dental career, starting in 2001 as a chairside assistant. In 2011, I transferred to the front desk, working with accounts, insurance, treatment coordination, and scheduling. In 2015, Dr. Hyten created the role of Practice Manager, where I have served the practice to this day.
Dr. Hyten and his staff have a very strong team approach to providing optimal dental care to our patients, and each team member is interested and invested in our patient’s dental health. Our patients teach us about trust, individuality, and effort! We get to know our patients and they trust us to advise them and treat them. By building these relationships, we become an even better team working together towards their overall health!
My husband, Allen, and I have been married since 2000 and live in Germantown. We have one son, Grant. In my spare time I enjoy reading a good book, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
Taylor
Financial CoordinatorI began working in the dental field in 2018 and have been at Hyten Dental since 2021.
My favorite thing about Hyten Dental is that everyone works together to create a happy work environment and provides excellent patient care. This is only accomplished through a consistent, positive attitude and positive vibes.
I have lived in Carlyle my whole life. I am married with three beautiful children, with whom I enjoy playing with, hanging out at the golf course (riding along), and family side by side rides.

Dental HygientistI was born and raised in Clinton County and I have been a dental hygienist since 2010. I joined Hyten Dental in 2020.
Hyten Dental is a great place to work. My coworkers are like family. We are there for each other professionally and personally. May favorite part of work is our daily shenanigans, which creates a laid back and fun atmosphere to work in, all while giving our patients the utmost care. I love my job because my patients are always interesting. Each one has a different personality, story, or background.
In my spare time, my husband and I love riding horses and watching our kids in rodeos and sporting events. There is never a dull moment, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Kailey
Dental HygientistI grew up and went to school here in Carlyle. I started at Hyten Dental in 2020 as a newly certified dental assistant. When I decided to move on to dental hygiene, Dr. Hyten was very encouraging and I continued working as an assistant in my off time from hygiene school. It is now the summer 2024 and I am a licensed dental hygienist and working full time again for Hyten Dental.
The people here have created a positive environment to work in and I love that patients place their trust in me and trust in Hyten Dental.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going on walks, and spending time with family and friends.
